Richard Skorman was the recipient of many hugs and well wishes during a block party for his retirement on Sunday, May 3, 2026. The block was also to celebrate the passing of the torch to the new owners that will take over his Colorado Springs businesses, Joe Cole and Sarah Gibeau. Richard Skorman moved to Colorado Springs in the 70’s to attend Colorado College. He bought the bookstore where he was working as a student and over the decades expanded it into the Poor Richard’s complex, which now includes a gift shop, toy store, restaurant, and wine bar.
