Travelers along highways south and east of Colorado Springs should expect convoys of military vehicles from Sunday through Thursday.

The convoys will be traveling primarily east on Colorado 94 and then south on Colorado 71. Others will be traveling south on Interstate 25 and east on U.S. 350, a news release said.

Drivers on these highways may experience some delays as about 1,400 military vehicles travel from Fort Carson to the Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site, northeast of Trinidad.

Fort Carson officials encouraged drivers to maintain a safe distance, be patient, and avoid attempting to pass or merge into convoys.
