A man with Nazi tattoos on his face, neck and chest was charged twice in three days by Colorado Springs police after allegedly menacing a woman on Tuesday.

Cody Greathouse, 35, is accused of following a pizza delivery driver from the entrance of the Roadway Inn to her car and flashing a gun at her, prompting her to drive off in fear, according to court documents obtained by The Gazette.

Witnesses told police that he had been waiting in the lobby and talking to someone about being “sent” to the hotel for “some religious reasons” before following the victim.

Police say Greathouse’s “tendency for violence” caused them to dispatch three units and a drone to arrest him in the 300 block of West Uintah Street on Wednesday. Indiana court records show that before 2020, he was convicted of numerous felonies across several cases, including resisting law enforcement, battery against a public safety officer and sexual battery.

Greathouse appeared Thursday before an El Paso County judge to be advised of his rights on the menacing charge. He appeared in court again Friday after police filed an additional charge of possession of a weapon by a previous offender in a separate case for the gun he allegedly had during Tuesday’s incident.

A loaded black 9mm H&K P30 handgun was recovered by police after his initial arrest, according to court documents.

Greathouse’s arrest affidavit indicates that police were able to identify him in a national law enforcement database from witness statements and surveillance footage of his swastika tattoos on his neck and face.

A spokesperson with the Colorado Springs Police Department could not answer whether Greathouse has gang or extremist group affiliations. Greathouse’s arrest affidavits do not indicate that either played a role in the alleged acts.

Two El Paso County judges set Greathouse’s bonds in his menacing and weapons cases at $1,000 and $2,000, respectively. His next court appearances are scheduled for Thursday.
