Colorado Springs Broadway lovers have spoken.

As part of its recently announced 2026-2027 Broadway at Pikes Peak Center Series, the Tony Award-winning “The Book of Mormon” will come to town April 6-8.

Every year, the American Theatre Guild, which brings Broadway series to cities around the U.S., surveys audience members in each location about which shows they’d most like to see.

“‘The Book of Mormon’ has been on everybody’s radar for a long time,” said Craig Aikman, senior director of presenting operations for The American Theatre Guild. “It was one of the most highly requested shows we’ve gotten.”

The Tony Award-winning “Hadestown” kicks off the new series Nov. 30-Dec. 2; “The Bodyguard,” based on the 1992 film, is Jan. 25-27; and “Legally Blonde – The Musical,” based on the 2001 film, is Feb. 23-24.

A couple of years ago, the Broadway series at PPC expanded from two to three nights, proving that theater goers in the Pikes Peak region love the art form.

“There’s a certain level of escapism that comes with musical theater,” Aikman said. “You have to pull yourself out of reality to break into song and dance at a moment’s notice. And that universal thing of just a good story that either tugs at your heart, changes your thought process, or surprises you, or gives us a chance to leave the day-to-day behind for a moment.”

2026-2027 Broadway at Pikes Peak Center Series

• Nov. 30-Dec. 2: “Hadestown,” by Anaïs Mitchell. Two mythic tales, that of Orpheus and Eurydice and King Hades and his wife, Persephone, intertwine. Orpheus, a musician, must go to the Underworld to charm Hades and retrieve Eurydice, while Persephone, kidnapped by Hades, spends half the year in the Underworld and the other half on Earth, thereby creating the four seasons.

• Jan. 25-27: “The Bodyguard,” with a book by Alexander Dinelaris and songs recorded by Whitney Houston, including “One Moment in Time” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.” The jukebox musical, based on the 1992 film, chronicles the relationship between a former Secret Service agent and a superstar singer when he’s hired to protect her from a stalker.

• Feb. 23-24: “Legally Blonde – The Musical,” by Laurence O’Keefe, Nell Benjamin and Heather Hach. Based on the 2001 film about Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her boyfriend.

• April 6-8: “The Book of Mormon,” by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. From the creators of “South Park,” the story follows two mismatched missionaries as they travel to a remote village in Uganda to spread their Mormon faith.
