Colorado Springs firefighting crews were battling a grass fire near Interstate 25, between Cimarron and Tejon streets on Sunday afternoon.

Smoke could be seen from several areas in the city, according to a Fire Department spokesperson.

Cimarron and Eighth Street were closed to traffic until crews got the blaze under control.

“Firefighters will remain on scene mopping up the area,” CSFD said in a social media post.

Information about the size of the fire was not immediately available.
