A Florence woman called authorities after allegedly shooting a man to death on Saturday, law enforcement officials said.

At about 2:25 p.m. Saturday, Florence police responded to a call about a shooting in the 100 block of Railroad Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old man with a fatal gunshot wound.

Also at the scene was a 43-year-old woman, who called 911 after allegedly firing the fatal shot. She is cooperating with investigators, police said.

No arrests had been announced as of Monday afternoon. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the Florence Police Department in the active investigation.
