Former substitute teacher arrested, faces multiple sexual misconduct allegations
A former Colorado Springs substitute teacher was arrested for allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to a Monday news release from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
William Boden, 33, faces multiple felony charges related to alleged sexual misconduct with a minor, including sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, sexual exploitation of a child and unlawful electronic sexual communication, officials said.
Boden’s arrest came after the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit responded to a report of “an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a student” at James Madison Charter Academy in Widefield School District 3.
Detectives began the investigation Jan. 5 and identified Boden as the suspect after multiple interviews and evidence collection, authorities said.
“During the investigation, detectives developed evidence establishing an unlawful relationship between Boden and the minor victim,” the release stated.
Boden was arrested Feb. 19. He was released on $25,000 bond on March 20.
Boden worked at James Madison Charter Academy from Oct. 31, 2022, through Jan. 2024, officials said.
In accordance with state law, the victim’s name, age and gender were not released.
Boden is scheduled for an arraignment hearing at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
