Anthony’s Pizza & Pasta, the Denver-based New York-style pizza chain that expanded into the Pikes Peak region in early 2019, has closed its Interquest location.

The restaurant located at 1333 Interquest Parkway in InterQuest Commons is permanently closed, the company confirmed by email.

“This location was independently owned and operated by a local franchisee who has made the decision to cease operations,” said Peter Counter, director of brand development. “We are deeply saddened by the impact this closure has had on the employees and the Colorado Springs community. We do hope to have the opportunity to return to the area in the future.”

The restaurant was locked and empty last week. No signs were posted to indicate its closure, and metal chairs and tables were stacked neatly in front of the restaurant. Its “open” sign was not illuminated.

Phone calls to the store were picked up by an automated answering system with no indication of the restaurant’s closure. A Tribune reporter’s attempts to reach a store representative through the answering system were unsuccessful.

Anthony’s local Facebook page did not indicate any permanent or temporary closures, either currently in effect or anticipated.

Known for its thin-crust pizza, pasta, sandwiches and salads, Anthony’s Pizza and Pasta was founded in Denver in 1984. The company currently operates 15 locations across greater Denver, Fort Collins and Castle Rock, according to its website. A locations map indicated that the Castle Rock location is temporarily closed.
