Lane closures scheduled on northbound I-25 through Colorado Springs for construction work

Commuters on northbound Interstate 25 through Colorado Springs can expect delays during the next week.

I-25 will be reduced to one lane starting at 10 p.m. Tuesday and last through 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Colorado Department of Transportation. All northbound lanes are expected to be open at 6 a.m.

A complete closure of northbound I-25 is scheduled from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting Friday night through Monday morning. The closure will allow crews to replace the bridge deck at Garden of the Gods, according to CDOT.

The $62 million dollar project will create traffic-balancing auxiliary lanes, clarify merging for drivers at exits and entrances, create a smoother roadway, and help with drainage issues, CDOT said in the release.

The project began in October 2023 and is expected to be finished in August.
