Colorado Springs First Friday offers dozens of new exhibits, opening receptions
“Shapes of Rhythm,” works by Jennie Harvey, and “Entropy”: Harvey’s abstract paintings feature dreamy imagery inspired by the natural world, while the juried show, “Entropy,” invited artists to find joy in the disintegration of order, opening reception 5-8 p.m. Friday, through April 25, Cottonwood Center for the Arts, 427 E. “Signs of Spring”: Oil and watercolor painter Kim York never met a landscape or wild creature she didn’t love, and her work reflects it. Patty Kingsbaker, a Creede artist, begins her whimsical, richly colored pieces with acrylic paints on canvas, then layers on pieces of paper.
