Woman dies in single-vehicle crash east of Colorado Springs
A 47-year-old woman died Monday in a single-vehicle crash in eastern El Paso County, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The wreck happened around 8 p.m. and involved a 2015 Ford Explorer on Falcon Highway just west of Curtis Road.
The Ford was westbound on Falcon Highway east of Colorado Springs when it lost control and began to rotate counterclockwise, going off the right side of the highway, the State Patrol said in its news release Thursday. The vehicle ended up wrapped around a tree.
The driver, whose identity will be released later by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office, died on scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to the State Patrol.
