Pedestrian killed in mid-March north Colorado Springs crash identified
Police have identified the pedestrian killed in a mid-March crash as a 75-year-old Colorado Springs man.
The Colorado Springs Police Department arrived at the 5800 block of North Academy Boulevard just after 6 a.m. on March 18 and found Harlo Peterson in critical condition.
Life-saving measures were attempted, but Peterson died on scene.
Police determined that Peterson was walking along an Academy Boulevard mid-block crossing when he was struck in a northbound lane.
The El Paso County coroner identified Peterson a day later. Driver impairment is not suspected, police have said.
Peterson was the 10th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year. Police Sgt. Ronnie Taylor told The Gazette that there are 11 total so far.
