Dad’s Donuts announces indefinite closure
Dad’s Donuts, a popular downtown Colorado Springs pastry shop, announced its indefinite closure after the store’s building was sold by its owner, leaving it without a permanent location.
The doughnut shop announced its closure in a Saturday Facebook post, also citing an “instrumental” employee’s medical leave, whose leave has left the shop “without a core piece in actually making donuts,” the post said.
The doughnut shop wrote that it is committed to finding a new location and reopening as soon as possible.
“This is not goodbye. It’s simply a pause. … We look forward to the day we can welcome you back,” it stated in the post.
The closure of Dad’s Donuts downtown location on Moreno Street comes after its two northern Springs locations closed, announced in December, according to Gazette news partner KOAA.
The doughnut shop has been a popular Colorado Springs foodie destination since its opening in 2024, starring its 109-layer cronuts — what Dad’s Donuts describes as “a delightful marriage of the beloved donut and the flaky croissant.”
