Colorado Springs police say a person was stabbed in the neck with a machete at an apartment complex parking lot Friday night.

Officers responded to the 3600 block of Austin Bluffs Parkway at around 9:40 p.m. and found the person with the stab wound, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The area is just east of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.

The person told the officers that the stabbing happened during a disturbance at a nearby apartment complex. They were taken to a hospital, where they were treated for their non-life-threatening wounds, police said.

A suspect has not been identified as of early Saturday afternoon, according to police.
