Colin Shutler was eyeing a shutout in a return to his old stomping grounds.

Through 88 minutes of play, the Colorado Springs Switchbacks keeper held a clean sheet against his former team of the past four seasons. Sixteen-year-old Tyson Epsy spoiled the fun with a late goal that gave Orange County a 1-0 victory in California on Saturday night.

Epsy took advantage of a bad clearing attempt from the Switchbacks in the 89th minute. Following a header, the ball bounced to the teenager who sent it into the right side of the Colorado Springs goal and propelled Orange County to its first win of the season while handing the Switchbacks their first loss.

Colorado Springs (1-1-1) forward Juan Tejada nearly scored on a like play in the third minute of second-half, stoppage time but his attempt sailed wide of the goal.

Of note for Colorado Springs, midfielder Frank Daroma made his debut for the club on Saturday, subbing into the match in the 81st minute. Daroma joined the Switchbacks in the offseason, coming from El Paso Locomotive FC.

The Switchbacks will be back on the road next week, traveling to rival New Mexico United.
