World Ballet Company’s ‘Cinderella’ delivers a fairy tale night in Colorado Springs
Glass slippers, magical pumpkins and a royal romance are headed to the stage in Colorado Springs.
The World Ballet Company will bring its Broadway-style production of “Cinderella” to the Pikes Peak Center, 190 S. Cascade Ave., for a one-night performance at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Known for blending classical ballet with dramatic theater, the touring company’s version of the well-known fairy tale leans into both elegance and entertainment.
Audiences can expect grand stage design, sweeping choreography and more than 150 hand-sewn costumes that bring the timeless story to life.
The production also includes 40 international dancers who combine their professional choreography with moments of humor, giving the classic tale a modern energy while still honoring traditional ballet.
The two-hour performance, including a 20-minute intermission, is designed to appeal to seasoned ballet fans and newcomers alike. Tickets range from $60.25 to $141.
The role of Cinderella will be performed by Haruka Nomura, with Igor Leushin as the prince and Alina Rybakova portraying the wicked stepmother.
The production features music by Johann Strauss II, with an original “Time” theme composed by Anna Drubich.
With lavish sets, vibrant costumes and a timeless story at its core, the performance promises an enchanting evening at the theater; one where audiences might just find themselves believing in a little bit of magic.
