School caved to the demands

Education without intelligence, that’s what the James Irwin Charter Middle School has become now that they have caved to the demands from the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

Make no mistake about it, evolutionary theory acts as a corrosive acid that eats a hole in every subject because it allows irrational thinking to reign supreme. Yes, irrational thinking. Evolution says that something comes from nothing, that the universe came into existence without a cause, that life comes from non-life, that our minds and the vast amount of information in our DNA come from mindless matter, that order and design come from random chaos, that morals flow from a non-moral universe where there is no ultimate standard of goodness, and that we as persons have value even though there is no metaphysical foundation for that value. It takes more faith to believe those things than it does to believe that the universe had a cause, and that that cause was a self-existent God as an Intelligent Designer. After all, discovering cause and effect is what science is all about.

Those who argue against Intelligent Design can’t even live consistently with their worldview, because, as they make their case against it, they themselves are using their intelligence. JICMS should be ashamed that they didn’t have the spine to fight this battle for truth. Alliance Defending Freedom would have been glad to help. JICMS should change their name from one that honors James Irwin, a strong Christian believer, to Charles Darwin Charter Middle School.

TSA employees not being paid

Thanks Gazette, for the heads up about Transportation Security employees having to work with no salary. If those employees stay on the job with no pay while they and their families suffer through this time, that shows real dedication to keeping our flying public safe.

The Democrats in Congress will try anything to try to make President Donald Trump look bad. They are supposed to serve the needs of our people, but they don’t mind taking away their livelihood. It is interesting that they never give a thought to shutting down their own much larger salaries. At least DIA has some donation boxes for TSA employees. That probably won’t go far in taking the place of their missing salaries. If the Democrats in Congress stopped their own salaries and put up donation boxes, I doubt that they would receive much if anything. They probably wouldn’t need any help anyway, since it seems that many in Congress become very rich very quickly. I wonder how that happens.

The public is also taking hits. Because of the funds being cut off to TSA, many flights are being severely delayed causing long wait times for passengers. An airport in Houston has asked its passengers to arrive 4 to 5 hours prior to their flights to ensure they will get through the TSA screening process on time. Democrats in Congress, and a few Republicans at times, are more interested in increasing their own power than serving the needs of the public.

This whole thing is being caused over immigration enforcement which has halted the Department of Homeland Security funding. Who doesn’t want immigration enforced? After seeing the terrible results of not enforcing immigration, like the crimes being committed by some of the illegal immigrants, I think we all should give more attention to illegal immigrants and be willing to provide the funds to Homeland Security so they can provide that security for our well being.

Sky high oil prices

In just a few short weeks, Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth, with their fingers always on the trigger, have managed to send oil prices sky high and set off a crisis with energy costs world-wide. My husband paid over $4 gallon for gas this weekend, that’s a hardship, and we know prices will keep going up as long as Trump and Israel are bombing Iran.

Trump’s comments are so offensive, too. He called people concerned about high gas prices “fools” or something to that effect, his language is disgusting.

Trump’s cavalier attitude shows how disrespectful he is of human life and the sacrifices of our military. He wears a campaign hat to the Dignified Transfer ceremony of 6 service members? Even Fox News knew that was inappropriate and substituted another photo. Trump said the US would “Bomb them some more just for fun”? No competent world leader would say something like that. And while bombs are falling, he’s out on the golf course ignoring the deaths and huge environmental disaster occurring in the Middle East.

End the U/ISRAEL WAR ON Iran NOW. Congress, including our Representative Jeff Crank, is abdicating their responsibilities to declare war, overpowered by the yammering of the Trump administration. You cannot allow the President to do Congress’s job, that is why we have the Separation of Powers philosophy. The President, whose judgement is suspect, does not have the power to wage war without congress. But they have to stand up and reclaim their constitutional duties, which they haven’t.

President Obama had a nuclear deal with Iran, but Trump tore that up, choosing instead to start a new Middle East war. And wars for oil are so yesteryear…..

Citizens are struggling

Money is tight for all of us, this is no secret. It is difficult for many families to make ends meet as things we need for everyday life continues to increase in price. Food, housing, gas and healthcare needs are just a few of the things making our dollars shrink.

But then I see reports that the Pentagon spent a record $93.4 billion in September fiscal year-end dollars, including luxury items such as $2 million on king crab, $6.7 million on lobster tails, $15.1 million on ribeye steak, and a $98,329 Steinway piano for the Air Force Chief of Staff’s home. Crab, lobster and ribeye steaks. A piano, really?

People, many of whom are children, are missing meals, and yet our government is allocating money for these things.
I would like to know why our tax dollars are being spent this way.

This seems very irresponsible to me. Our own Congressman Jeff Crank from Colorado Congressional District 5 sits on the House Armed Services Committee and should at least be able to ask some questions about this.

I hope he could please explain how this could happen when so many of our citizens are struggling.
