One person died Wednesday in an auto-pedestrian crash on North Academy Boulevard, according to Colorado Springs police.

The pedestrian was struck around 6:20 a.m. in the 5800 block of North Academy Boulevard.

Police said in an online blotter entry that responding officers determined the pedestrian was attempting to cross Academy Boulevard mid-block when he was struck by a northbound vehicle. The pedestrian died on scene.

Driver impairment is not suspected, police said.

All lanes of northbound and all but one southbound lane of Academy Boulevard were closed for several hours.
