The opening scene of “Sentimental Value” explores a house and all of its intricacies, including a structural flaw. The house has been a family’s home for generations. And yes, it has issues — like the people who have lived in it. So begins the Oscar-nominated movie about deep-seated trauma and a father trying to make things right through art.
