Motorists killed in February head-on collision identified

The El Paso County Coroner’s Office has identified two motorists killed in a collision Feb. 2, according to a news release Monday from the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Wallace Broadnax, 83, and David Boxley, 63, died from injuries in a head-on collision on Colorado 115, south of East Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard, police said.

The crash happened at about 2 p.m., when a vehicle traveling south on Colorado 115 crossed over into the northbound lanes and struck a vehicle head-on. Broadnax and Boxley, who were in the northbound vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene.

“At this time, speed an alcohol do not appear to be factors,” CSPD officials said.

Broadnax and Boxley were the third and fourth traffic fatalities in Colorado Springs in 2026. At this time last year, there had been no traffic deaths, police said.
