The El Paso County Coroner’s Office has identified a motorcyclist who died in a collision with another vehicle in early February, according to a Monday news release.

Joseph Pagliaro, 37, died when his motorcycle ran into a pickup truck at an intersection in the 1400 block of South Academy Boulevard on Feb. 6, police said.

Investigators determined that a pickup truck was crossing South Academy at the intersection when the motorcycle sideswiped it. Police said Pagliaro died at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries. Speed may have been a factor in the crash, officials said.

Pagliaro was the fifth traffic fatality in Colorado Springs this year, police said. At this time last year, there were no traffic deaths.
