Colorado Springs police are investigating the death of a female inside a residence in the 4200 block of Date Street early Thursday morning, according to a blotter entry by the department.

Police say the circumstances of finding the woman after a call for medical service prompted calling the department’s homicide unit, which assumed the investigation. It is not clear what those circumstances were.

The residence is located in the area of townhomes, houses and businesses near North Academy Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
