Make a Wish

The Student Council at Palmer Ridge High School is making dreams come true for children through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. They will be hosting an assembly and activities as part of the school’s annual “Wish Week” campaign to raise money for the foundation to grant life-changing wishes for kids.

The school’s goal is to raise $25,000 this year to support kids like Brookes who will be in attendance at their Wish Week assembly on Thursday, March 5 from 9:10–10 a.m. Brookes has a congenital heart disease, and her wish is to go to Disney World. This year’s assembly will include teachers getting a pie in the face.

“At various events throughout the week and especially at the assembly, students, teachers and staff really show up and give their all to support our Wish Kids,” said Lilyan Gardner, student council philanthropy chair. “It gives them a sense of belonging and hope for the future, which can recharge both kids and their parents.” Last year, PRHS raised more than $21,000 for Make-A-Wish.

• Hope Hedstrom of Monument was named to the 2025 fall semester provost’s honor roll at the University of Wyoming.

• Garrison Keeton of Monument was named to the fall 2025 dean’s list at Biola University.
