The best pizza in Colorado Springs, according to Best of the Springs voters
In this weekly feature, we’re celebrating the best of Colorado Springs’ food and drink scene ー as determined by voters in the 2025 Best of the Springs (thebestofthesprings.com). We’ll throw in our own recommendation, too.
Up this week: pizza.
Gold: Slice 420
Christian and Stefany Patriarca moved to Colorado Springs for the access to medical cannabis to treat their daughter’s cerebral palsy and epilepsy. In the process, they opened a pizza joint that would take the city by storm. Since 2017, Slice 420 has steadily expanded while maintaining the fresh, high-quality ingredients that separate these New York-style pies from all the rest. 2501 W. Colorado Ave., 3725 Oro Blanco Dr.
Silver: Il Vicino Wood Oven Pizza
Wood-fired is the name of the game at Il Vicino, which counts one of its seven nationwide locations at the University Village shopping center. The first location opened in Albuquerque, inspired by Chef Tom White’s tour of Italy’s traditional pizzerias. 5214 N. Nevada Ave.
Bronze: Walter’s303 Pizzeria and Publik House
It’s not just Denver where people find a home away from home at Walter’s303. It’s in the Springs’ ever-growing Flying Horse neighborhood, where families gather around hearty pizzas and friends meet up for a beer. Twenty are on tap here. 2690 North Gate Blvd.
Our recommendation: Rock’s 24 Pizzeria
The place hiding along Fountain Boulevard under the U.S. 24 bridge quietly opened last year. And quickly, fans amassed. That’s because they can’t get Chicago pizza like this anywhere else around ー the deep dish, yes, but also the thin tavern style that’s even more popular here. Add a long list of draft beers, and you might discover your next hangout. 2810 E. Fountain Blvd.
