Shen Yun Returns to the Front Range with All New Performances

Mischievous monkeys, celestial maidens, and heroic legends await.

As winter fades and spring blooms, divine beings once again grace the mortal realm—bringing laughter, awe, and inspiration. In 2026, the legendary Monkey King battles fresh demons with his trademark wit and acrobatics. Star-crossed lovers navigate heartache and hope. Immortal fairies playfully guide earthly fates.

Shen Yun, the premier classical Chinese dance company leading a global cultural renaissance, returns to Colorado and Wyoming with a breathtaking all-new production. So even audience members who have seen a Shen Yun show before, an entirely new experience awaits them this year. Prepare for mesmerizing stories, gravity-defying choreography, and an unforgettable evening that blends ancient splendor with modern innovation.

With eight complete companies touring the world simultaneously, Shen Yun delights over a million people annually across five continents. Founded in New York by elite artists dedicated to resurrecting authentic Chinese performing arts, the show transcends tradition. Patented animated backdrops synchronize perfectly with live performers, allowing dancers to “leap” into vast digital realms—from ethereal heavenly palaces and misty mountain landscapes to dynamic historical epics and vibrant village scenes.

Enhancing every moment is Shen Yun’s pioneering orchestra, the world’s first to permanently fuse classical Western instruments with ancient Chinese ones like the soulful erhu and bright pipa. This rich, evocative soundscape not only supports the dance but headlines its own acclaimed concerts at venues like Carnegie Hall.

Classical Chinese dance, with its expressive power honed over millennia, forms the heart of the performance. As one principal dancer notes, it serves as a profound language: deeply communicative, opening windows to timeless legends and inner emotions that words alone can’t capture.

This season’s program features around 20 short vignettes—each a self-contained gem spanning mythical folklore, historical grandeur, and poignant contemporary narratives. Family-friendly yet profoundly moving, the show touches on humor, tragedy, triumph, and transcendence, including bold depictions of courage in modern China that no other show dares to portray. These stories, forbidden on the mainland, highlight why Shen Yun remains banned in the PRC despite its worldwide acclaim.

The name “Shen Yun” literally translates to “the beauty of divine beings dancing”—a fitting moniker for a production company dedicated to reviving China’s sacred 5,000-year heritage. Before communist rule, this civilization shone as a beacon of artistry, virtue, and spirituality. Today, Shen Yun’s artists carry forward that legacy in freedom, fostering hope for a revived future while selling out theaters in over 150 cities worldwide—from Asia to Europe and beyond. Audience members, including celebrities and leaders, consistently rave about the pure joy and elevation they feel.

Experience the magic that’s captivating the world—right here in the Front Range.
