2 arrested following domestic incident in northeast Colorado Springs
A man and woman were arrested early Sunday following a domestic violence incident that escalated to a standoff with police, according to an online blotter entry.
Officers responded to a 12:40 a.m. call about a domestic disturbance in the 7700 block of Crestone Peak Trail in northeast Colorado Springs. When they arrived, they learned that the caller was locked in a bedroom and that a male suspect was attempting to get in.
As the officers announced their presence, the suspect turned off the lights inside the home and began to barricade the front door. When the suspect ignored multiple commands to surrender, officers forced their way into the home “due to the safety concerns of others inside,” according to the blotter entry.
The suspect, identified as Angel Quintana, 40, was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing after police say he threatened two women inside the home with a baseball bat.
Police arrested Samantha Delverde, 36, after learning she had an outstanding domestic violence warrant and was in violation of a protection order.
