Colorado Springs is expected to flirt with a 30-year-old temperature record on Monday as an unseasonably warm winter season continues, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

Monday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 68 degrees, the weather agency predicts. The record high temperature for Feb. 9 is 71 degrees, set in 1996.

With warm, dry conditions and occasional wind gusts in the forecast, red flag warnings have been issued in Pueblo County, Teller County and Fremont County, along with the southern mountains and southeastern plains. El Paso County was not included in the warnings, but residents are advised to observe fire precautions.

Partly sunny skies and low humidity are expected through Wednesday, with a mix of rain and snow likely on Thursday and Friday, according to the Weather Service.

Friday: Rain likely, possibly mixed with snow showers, mainly after 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47 degrees.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Winds of around 5 mph.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 55. West winds of 5-10 mph become south-southwest later in the morning.
