U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum shop sees influx of visitors around Winter Olympics, top products to buy

Excitement for the 2026 Winter Games can be felt throughout Colorado Springs, especially inside the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum’s shop.

The museum shop, located on the first floor, is one of just two Team USA shops in the country. Visitors can shop a variety of museum, Team USA, Olympic, and Paralympic merchandise, as well as LA28 products that were added last week.

The museum has experienced an increase in sales leading up to the Winter Games, with sales for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics collection being especially strong, according to operations manager Lori Kovacs.

“People are in tune with the upcoming Olympics and what’s going on, and trying to get their hands on whatever products there are,” museum shop employee Charles Johnson said. “The excitement for the Olympics is hopeful and eye-opening for a lot of people. I’ve been seeing a lot of people come in with Team USA pride, whether it’s former athletes or community members just wanting to show their support.”

Johnson has seen many Team USA athletes come through the shop, including Lindsey Vonn and Michael Phelps. Besides meeting world-class athletes, Johnson enjoys meeting visitors from all over the world.

“It’s cool to see two different seasons of how people approach the winter and summer games,” Johnson said. “Basketball is a bigger hit in the summer, so we have a lot of basketball players come through looking for jerseys. Same with hockey for the Winter Olympics. It’s also a cool opportunity to hear athletes’ stories and why they chose to be a Team USA athlete.”

Here are some of the shop’s most popular products:

1: Team USA retro authentic hockey hoodie ($99, youth only).

Hockey jerseys are usually popular around the Winter Olympics, but especially so this year with NHL players allowed to compete in the Olympics for the first time in over a decade. This hoodie is youth only, but there is also a blue USA Hockey quarter-zip for $84.99.

5. 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics and Paralympics gear.

It’s never too early to rep LA28. Customers have been asking about this merch for a while, and the store offers pins, mugs, and silicone bracelets with more to come.
