Colorado Springs police detained one person after a report of a shooting in the 2500 block of Gunnison Street led officers to a deceased male, police told The Gazette.

Police initially responded to the report early Thursday evening, several blocks southeast of the intersection of North Circle Drive and East Platte Avenue. The Gazette was unable to confirm with the police whether the man was shot.

CSPD’s homicide unit is investigating the incident.

If confirmed as a shooting, it would be the second within as many blocks this week. On Monday, several hundred feet south of the 2500 block of Gunnison Street, an officer-involved shooting injured one officer and the suspect, who remains in critical condition.
