Craving a chef’s kiss? Try these Valentine-themed classes at Chef’s Kitchen

A Cupid-ready list for the perfect Valentine's Day

Chef’s Kitchen in Colorado Springs is celebrating Valentine’s Day with two hands-on cooking classes: a Steakhouse Cooking Class with Wine Pairings on Feb. 13 and a Kids’ Valentine’s Day Donuts Class on Feb. 14.

The Steakhouse Cooking Class will be led by executive chef Abigail Lucas, who will guide participants through preparing a classic steakhouse menu paired with curated wines. The evening includes blistered grape and brie crostini, a Caesar salad topped with poached shrimp, sautéed seasonal greens and American-style potato au gratin. The centerpiece, of course, is a tenderloin steak finished with a red wine reduction. Lastly comes dessert: smoked chocolate crème with toasted hazelnuts and chocolate whisps. The cost for the class is $140 per person.

The Kids’ Valentine’s Day Donuts Class is designed for chefs ages 4 to 12 accompanied by a parent or guardian at no additional charge. Taught by professional baker Emily Capard, the class covers making fluffy, heart-shaped donuts from scratch, learning how yeast works, and decorating with Valentine-themed glazes, sprinkles and strawberry filling. The cost for the class is $49 per child, plus a $1.23 ticket service fee.

Chef’s Kitchen is located at 1753 S. 8th St., and registration details can be found at chefskitchencos.com.
