Colorado to Italy | Vail snowboarder, 17, will get crack at Olympic medal
– The first medals of the 2026 Winter Games will be awarded in the men’s downhill at 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Kyle Negomir of Littleton (16th in the first training session) and River Radamus of Edwards (36th) will be part of the field.
– Ollie Martin, a 17-year-old snowboarder from Vail, was the lone American to qualify for the men’s big air finals that will air at 11:30 a.m. Saturday on USA. Red Gerard of Silverthorne was among those not reaching finals.
– Colorado Springs duo Ellie Kam and Danny O’Shea kick off figure skating at the Olympics with their pairs short program for the team event at 3:35 a.m. Friday morning on USA. The pair are the reigning U.S. Championships silver medalists.
– Alysa Liu, who formerly trained in Colorado Springs, will perform for the U.S. as part of the figure skating team event at 5:35 a.m. Friday.
