Colorado Springs police rearrested a man after he escaped their custody while receiving treatment at Penrose Hospital on Tuesday, according to a blotter entry by the department.

Brandon Wilson was being seen at the hospital when he allegedly escaped through the restroom ceiling and ran from the building. Officers were flagged down by a citizen who claimed Wilson had broken into their house, but he allegedly left when confronted by police, the entry states.

Wilson later surrendered to officers with a K9 unit after another citizen reported he allegedly broke into their backyard and hid in a covered hot tub.

He had not posted his $2,000 bond as of Tuesday evening. Wilson will appear in court on Wednesday afternoon.
