Colorado Springs police arrested Anthony Lopez, 44, while out on bond for allegedly firing a gun into an occupied vehicle on Dec. 17, according to a blotter entry by the department.

Lopez allegedly used a handgun to fire into the vehicle after its occupant confronted him and an unnamed female with him about shoplifting in the 2800 block of North Powers Boulevard. After his arrest on Tuesday, police allegedly recovered a handgun with an illegal extended magazine from his vehicle.

His arrest comes after police allegedly located an incendiary device in his car during a traffic stop in August, according to previous reporting by The Gazette. Lopez was out on bond for that incident when the alleged attempted murder occurred, according to police.

Lopez was booked into the El Paso County jail on attempted murder and weapons-related charges. He has not posted his new $250,000 bond as of Thursday evening.
