A quick-spreading trailer fire displaced a family of four in Cimarron Hills Monday morning, according to a post on social media by the unincorporated community’s fire department east of Colorado Springs.

Firefighters from Cimarron Hills, Falcon and Ellicott were dispatched around 11:30 a.m. to the 1000 block of Western Drive after a report of flames and smoke. The fire appears to have initially started under the trailer before spreading to the interior and rooftop cooling unit, the post states.

One dog was rescued by firefighters inside the structure and another was located under a neighbor’s trailer. Both were reunited with their owner, according to the post.

The fire is remains under investigation.
