Board-certified hearing specialist Travis Milliken has opened Audibel hearing center in Woodland Park.  Milliken recently bought the business from Jim Stobaugh who owned a A Better Hearing Center. However, Milliken and his business are connected to the nationwide Audibel and he has the only outlet in southern Colorado.

At the new business on Paradise Circle and U.S. Hwy. 24, clients can have their hearing screened, buy and be fitted for hearing aids, and have routine checks.  

“We do anything and all things hearing,” Milliken said. “With AI technology we have hearing aids that self-adjust up to 80 million times per hour; it helps with background noise during conversations.”

In the hearing industry for 15 years, Milliken recommends that people 55 and older have a hearing check.

“Whether they think they have a problem or not they should have a baseline,” he said. “Hearing is health. Studies show that hearing loss can lead to dementia or Alzheimer’s.”

Within a few months, Milliken plans to re-open a hearing aid center in Salida, where Stobaugh once had a business but has closed the outlets, including the one in Buena Vista.

“I already have a hearing provider in Salida,” he said. “Our plan is to grow into the smaller mountain towns.”

While Audibel is new to Woodland Park, Trish Faulks is staying on as the office manager.

“Everybody knows Trish,” Milliken said.
