Colorado Springs residents evacuated Monday night after shed explodes
A Colorado Springs home and several neighboring residents were evacuated Monday night after a shed exploded then caught fire, police reported.
Located in the 2500 block of East Dale Street, near Platte Avenue and Circle Drive, the shed exploded at around 5:30 p.m. and was engulfed in flames by the time first responders arrived, according to an online blotter entry from the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Crews on scene report a shed is fully engulfed with the fire spreading to a nearby fence. E Monument St is shutdown in the area.

The fire spread to a nearby fence line before it was knocked down.
Residents were quickly evacuated, and no one was displaced.
While the cause of the explosion is unclear, the Police Department does not believe there is a criminal element at this time.
According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department, a person suffered minor injuries that didn’t require them to go to the hospital. A firefighter also had minor injuries.
