Colorado Springs police saw domestic abuse, gun violence and traffic crashes last week, among other incidents, with law enforcement making 348 arrests in El Paso County.

From Jan. 11 to Jan. 17, the Colorado Springs Police Department posted 11 blotter entries to its public database of incidents approved for release. Here is a recap of those entries:

On Monday, a male suspect confronted students moving into the dorms at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, when he fired multiple rounds in their direction. Jonathan Sovine was arrested in connection with the incident the next day and faces several charges, including attempted murder.

On Tuesday, police responded to an auto-pedestrian collision near North Circle Drive and Galley Road, in which the driver fled the scene after causing “serious bodily injuries” to the pedestrian. Officers later located suspect Victor Langhart, who allegedly gave a “full confession” at the time of his arrest.

On Thursday, an officer noticed a dirt biker traveling without a license plate near Memorial Park. With the help of drone support and Colorado State Patrol’s surveillance airplane, police located the motorist near Prospect Lake. When the suspect noticed police, he fled the scene and ran 10-20 feet into the lake, where he allegedly discarded a handgun. The suspect was arrested and taken to a hospital to be treated for hypothermia.

On Friday, just after 4 a.m., police responded to a vehicle off the roadway near Marksheffel and Drennan roads. When they arrived, they found the driver was ejected from the vehicle after rolling at least once. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say speed appears to be a factor in the crash.

Also on Friday, police responded to a reported home invasion in the 4500 block of Gold Medal Point. The victim said a male forced entry into their home and attempted to stab them with a butcher knife. Anthony Hawk, 28, was located and arrested in connection with the incident.

Other incidents at a glance:

• On Monday, the Colorado Springs Police Department worked with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to arrest two suspects, Dominic Bryan, 31, and Zhane Molina, 26, accused of auto theft. Two vehicles were recovered during the operation.

• On Tuesday, Michael Pena, 44, was arrested in connection with a Dec. 22 motor vehicle theft. When police attempted to stop Pena in the stolen vehicle, he allegedly fled the scene at a high speed. Pena was later arrested with a passenger, Chelsea Guido, 30, who had a warrant for her arrest for failing to appear in court.

• On Friday, police responded to a family disturbance in the 3300 block of Bunker Hill Drive. When they arrived, they found that a male suspect damaged property belonging to his family members and then jumped out of a back window to flee officers. The suspect, Simeon Bogart, returned to the home around two hours later and was arrested.

• Also on Friday, a business in the 2700 block of Janitell Road reported a robbery after two suspects stole merchandise and then produced firearms when confronted. The suspects fled the scene and were not located by officers.

• On Saturday, just after 2 a.m., police responded to a single vehicle crash near Galley and Wooten roads. When they arrived, they found the driver had sustained serious injuries after striking a fixed object. Police suspect that the driver was impaired.

• Also on Saturday, police were dispatched to North Powers Boulevard and Constitution Avenue after a driver was found unconscious in a northbound lane. The vehicle was still in drive and officers were unable to wake the driver. The suspect was taken into custody on several charges, including for a firearm located in his vehicle.
