Fountain police arrested Jakob Soroka, 21, after he allegedly assaulted someone at a Taco Bell and then stabbed another person outside Albertaco’s Mexican Food 40 minutes later on Thursday, according to a news release by the department.

Soroka was booked into the El Paso County Jail on two counts of second-degree attempted murder, aggravated robbery, third-degree assault and theft.

Officers were initially dispatched to the Albertaco’s at 5710 U.S. 85 around 9:36 p.m. when an employee reported a man with a stab wound ran into the store needing help. Fountain Fire provided medical assistance and transported the victim to the hospital.

Surveillance footage from the restaurant showed the suspect stabbing the victim and provided a description of him, according to the release. About nine minutes after initially responding, police located and arrested Soroka based on that description at a nearby convenience store.

Investigators later learned Soroka matched the description of a suspect in an assault that took place 40 minutes earlier at a Taco Bell less than a mile southeast, the release states.
