Pedestrian seriously injured in alleged hit-and-run crash in east Colorado Springs

A pedestrian is in the hospital, and a man is in custody after an alleged hit-and-run crash from Tuesday night.

The crash happened at the intersection of North Circle Drive and Galley Road, near The Citadel mall on the east side of Colorado Springs, according to an online blotter entry from the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Investigators determined that a pickup truck made a right-hand turn and allegedly struck the person while they were crossing the street before driving off.

The pedestrian was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital.

Police located the truck, and they said the driver, Victor Langhart, made a “full confession.” Langhart was booked into the El Paso County jail, where he is being held on a $3,000 bond.

Neither speed nor alcohol is being considered as a factor in the crash.
