707 Pizza Co., the family-owned and operated pizzeria that opened in the summer next to Colorado College’s Ed Robson Arena in downtown Colorado Springs, has temporarily closed.

A Dec. 18 post on the restaurant’s Instagram page, still its most recent, indicated the business would close for the holidays from Dec. 22-Jan. 2 and would reopen on Jan. 3.

The restaurant at 819 N. Tejon St., Suite 120, remained closed this week, however, with no anticipated reopening date announced.

“Temporarily closed,” notices taped to the restaurant’s front windows read on Thursday. “We are currently pausing operations while we evaluate next steps for this location. We appreciate the community support and will share updates as they become available. Thank you for your understanding.”

The restaurant’s website made no mention of the closure, but customers could not make online orders or reservations as of Friday morning. Calls to 707 Pizza Co.’s listed phone number, and a message sent to the company’s Instagram social media page, were left unanswered.

707 Pizza Co.’s Facebook and TikTok social media pages also appeared to be deleted.  

The pizzeria opened in downtown Colorado Springs in July, serving Neapolitan-inspired pizza, sandwiches, pasta and salads, and offering a full bar. 707 Pizza Co. billed itself as the nation’s first full restaurant and bar with interactive dining tables; customers can order food and drinks and play games right from their seats.

Though they hail from the Colorado Springs area, the pizzeria’s name is a nod to the California wine country where its owners lived for 20 years, the website states. California’s 707 area code serves the northwestern part of the state, including wine regions such as Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties.

The website states the family owners opened another pizzeria in Colorado in 2020, Penrose Pizzeria & Pub in Penrose. That pizzeria also appears to be temporarily closed and its website deleted.
