Colorado Springs police arrested a suspect in an armed robbery and another individual with a warrant for arrest after both were located by traveling in a stolen car, according to CSPD and Fountain police.

Around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Tyson Dunckel, 32, allegedly stole several bottles of alcohol from Klix Liquor at 6945 Mesa Ridge Parkway in Fountain before running out of the store and pointing a gun at an employee who followed him.

Fountain police received an image of the SUV he fled in from CSPD’s Flock License Plate Reader system and confirmed it had been reported stolen, according to police.

The Colorado State Patrol and Fountain detectives located Dunckel driving the car in Colorado Springs around 1 p.m. Wednesday and requested several units from CSPD. Colorado Springs police used one of its drones to locate the vehicle in the 3700 block of Betty Drive and witnessed the suspect enter a business with a paintball mask and ski goggles.

Dunckel exited and began walking to his car when officers approached him, causing him to run away before falling and dropping a handgun from his waistband, according to police.

He was charged with aggravated robbery, motor vehicle theft, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and menacing.

Reanna Edsall, 23, was in the driver’s seat of the car and also tried to run before being detained. She had active felony warrants in El Paso County, according to police.

Both were booked into the El Paso County jail.
