Pikes Pick: Downtown Carnegie Library serves up family history, old books
As a longtime lover of the library, I’ve never spent any time in Pikes Peak Library District’s historic 1905 Carnegie Library, located in the northwest corner of Penrose Library. That has changed. The library is home to the Regional History & Genealogy Collection, which is keeping me vastly entertained. I can search my family history for free and also peruse the massive collection of old fiction and nonfiction books. You can’t check anything out, so prepare to hunker down for a few hours. – Jennifer Mulson, The Gazette
