Colorado Springs firefighters found one deceased male victim after responding to an extinguished fire around 2:30 p.m. Monday, according to a post on social media by the department.

Engine 7 firefighters arrived at the residence in the 2600 block of Oro Blanco Drive to find light smoke emanating from the home before determining the fire was already out.

The fire was contained to the basement, and three people were evaluated for injuries on the scene, according to the post.

Colorado Springs police have taken responsibility for the death investigation, and the cause of the fire is still being determined.
