Several local media outlets recently reported Colorado Springs is facing a “massive housing crisis.” The Regional Housing Assessment presented a report to Colorado Springs City Council that shows the city is currently facing a 27,000-unit shortage. I hope City Council won’t buy into this nonsense. There are currently more than 4,000 homes for sale in Colorado Springs and more than 5,000 rentals available. This surely doesn’t sound like a “massive housing crisis” to me!

Know the opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. Today’s Democrats are not your parents’ Democrats. The playbook of today is to destroy our country from within. When indifference takes hold, the government is open to opportunists. In this case, it’s the “Candy Cane” Marxists.

False promises flooded the country with unvetted immigrants who don’t know American values, consume limited resources in housing, food supplies and medical services. This sets the stage for internal division. This division propagates censorship, prioritizes equity over equality, and abandons due process, among other things. This leads to a decay of reason and a confusion of reality, as witnessed in gender chaos. It pits ideologue against ideologue.

This negligence opened the door for President Donald Trump to pivot and shame the indifferent advocates of the status quo. That’s why Trump defeated Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris. Poor Joe Biden was blackmailed into an automaton, replacing the “rubber stamp” with an autopen.

Trump has set the stage for long-range successes. People don’t understand he’s laying the foundation for a brighter future the Democrats should have built. But no one is perfect.

Trump has made the Republican Party do more critical thinking about consequences. There’s hope their Neanderthal thinking will evolve. Trump, mirroring the Democrats’ immigration playbook in reverse, repeats the Democrats’ mockery of “due process.” Remember in history, those who didn’t speak up for other groups arrested without due process? Then it was their turn to be charged. That’s how it happens without any accountability. The point is, Trump needs to accept constructive criticism and enforce due process. The irony is Democrats will continue on a course of disaster in the name of “love.”

For what it’s worth, the countries of Sweden and Finland were quickly voted into NATO, but at the same time the United States repeatedly blocked the entry of Ukraine. The answer is simple to this riddle. We had a president who thought he knew Vladimir Putin wouldn’t invade, even as Russian troops, armaments and soldiers for hire were aligned on the Ukrainian border.

When Russia invaded Ukraine, our possible intervention might have led to a nuclear engagement at some point. And now, day after day we see or read of the numbers being killed. Without providing Ukraine with weaponry truly required to save a population and ethnicity, should Ukraine capitulate to Putin? If current President Donald Trump can secure Ukraine’s support for such an end to the war, does this suggest an unwillingness by the U.S. to support eastern and western European nations within NATO should Putin invade any of these nations?

I believe the messaging may be crystal clear as President Trump seems more interested in supporting an expanded Monroe Doctrine of defending the Western Hemisphere. What happens then to Tawain, New Zealand, Australia, the Phillipines, etc.? I don’t have the answer to any of this, but I do know we could have beaten Putin to the punch after he invaded and took control of Crimea. NATO could have placed troops and armaments into Ukraine back in 2014-2015. What worries me is the land grab and analogy to Nazi Germany of the 1930s and 1940s, followed by the Soviet Union at the closing days of WWII. History just may repeat itself.
