Two shootings across Colorado Springs have left three people in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police reported.

The first shooting happened Thursday afternoon in the 1600 block of South Nevada Avenue, according to a Colorado Springs Police Department blotter entry.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Witnesses told police the shooting may have been over money, adding that the suspect had fled prior to officers arriving.

Investigators are still developing leads on a suspect, but they believe the shooting was an isolated incident, according to the blotter entry.

Hours later, another shooting was reported in downtown Colorado Springs near Acacia Park, according to another blotter entry. Officers arrived to the intersection of North Tejon and East Boulder streets at around 2 a.m. Friday and found a person with a gunshot wound.

A few minutes later, they learned another person had shown up to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound.

Investigators determined that the shooting was related to a “disturbance” in the downtown area, and police said they have contacted everyone involved. No arrest has been made at this time.
