Kids love Winter Day in the Park
Aptly named, Winter Day in the Park Dec. 5 in Memorial Park attracted hundreds and dozens of little kids who braved 20-degree weather.
Bundled up, little kids were observed skipping and smiling at all the activities, with nary a sob in the bunch. Many of the smiles came with eating cookies, no limit except by the parents.
There was a petting zoo, story time with city council members and a chance to tell Santa Claus about the wish list.
“This such a wonderful thing,” said Anna Uher. “We are so blessed to have this event every year.”

Uher’s 4-year-old daughter Stella was enjoying making crafts and helping prepare the city staff hang lights for the tree-lighting ceremony as darkness took hold.

Cindy Keating, executive director of the Woodland Park Parks and Recreation Department, and her staff hosted the party that included city officials.
