Colorado Springs police saw standoffs and fugitive arrests last week, with law enforcement making a total of 251 arrests in El Paso County.

From Nov. 23 to Nov. 29, the Colorado Springs Police Department posted three blotter entries to its database of arrests approved for public release. Here is a recap of those entries: 

On Monday, detectives from the Lakewood Police Department worked with a U.S. Marshals Southern Colorado task force to arrest a wanted fugitive. Detectives surveilled the suspect on a stolen motorcycle near the 3600 block of Michigan Avenue, and as officers approached him, he fled on foot, dropping a handgun. Police found a “large amount of methamphetamine” in his possession. The suspect’s identity is yet to be released due to the ongoing investigation.

On Tuesday, CSPD released a notification about a sexually violent predator, 26-year-old Kailan Rodriguez, who was released into the community and is registered as homeless, staying in the area of 5 W. Las Vegas St.

On Wednesday, police responded to a family disturbance in the 7300 block of Legend Hill Drive, and when they arrived, a male suspect allegedly refused to cooperate and threatened violence. After negotiating with the suspect for over five hours, he was arrested and faces several charges, including second-degree assault. The suspect’s identity has not been released as the investigation is ongoing.
