A man was arrested overnight after Colorado Springs police said he kidnapped his former girlfriend for a short period.

Just after midnight Saturday, police were called to a home in the 5200 block of Meadowgreen Drive regarding a domestic dispute, according to an online police blotter entry.

The caller told police that the dispute involved a woman and her ex-boyfriend, who they said had a handgun and was trying to gain access to the home.

While officers were on their way, the caller told them that the suspect had left, and they didn’t know where the women was.

After getting a description of the suspect’s vehicle, officers spotted it in the area and conducted a traffic stop.

The suspect, identified as Victor Hernandez, was found inside the car with a handgun and the woman.

Hernandez was booked into the El Paso County jail, where records show he is being held on a no-bond hold. Police said he is facing multiple charges, including second-degree kidnapping.
