2 shootings in Colorado Springs leave 2 injured

Shootings in Colorado Springs Friday night and early Saturday left two people with non-fatal injuries, according to Colorado Springs Police Department blotter entries.

Police said they were dispatched to the first shooting, which occurred in the 1300 block of Ginny Lane, around 10:30 p.m. Upon their arrival at the residence, police discovered a male victim who had been shot multiple times.

This victim was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the department. Law enforcement says the “possible suspect” in the shooting was not on scene when officers got there. However, the suspect is reportedly known to the victim.

The assault unit responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation, police said.

The second shooting occurred around 12:45 a.m. Saturday in the 3300 block of Portal Drive. Police released little information, but did say one victim sustained a gunshot wound and is in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
