Check out the latest trends in home improvement at The Springs Home Show

By O’Dell Isaac

Colorado Springs homeowners looking to reinforce a roof, remodel a kitchen, or just check out the latest trends in home improvement can do all those things — and more — at The Springs Home Show at the Norris Penrose Event Center this weekend.

The biannual expo gives attendees to engage directly with local experts in the home improvement industry, including roofers, kitchen/bathroom remodelers, interior designers and flooring specialists, according to Sol Lee of Nationwide Expos.

“Whatever you’re looking for in the home improvement space, you can find it at the show,” Lee said.

The home shows benefit both exhibitors and attendees, Lee said. Business owners get to speak face-to-face with motivated potential customers, while attendees can gain valuable insight into the industry and do some comparison shopping without the drudgery of multiple phone calls and store visits.

“It’s very convenient for both sides,” Lee said. “Exhibitors can generate quality leads, and home owners can speak with multiple experts in the same field and get multiple quotes, all in the same place.”

Home owners can gain valuable insight into an evolving business, and home improvement specialists can learn what customers want — directly from the customers themselves.

“That’s another benefit,” Lee said. “(Attendees) are able to see what’s new out there in home improvement, and exhibitors get insights from their customers, which helps drive sales.”

About 60 exhibitors have signed up for the three-day event, which is expected to draw between 1,500 and 2,000 people, officials said.

“As the population grows in Colorado Springs and throughout the state, there are a lot of new-built homes, and a lot of home buyers,” Lee said.

“For those people, home shows are popular because they are convenient and people can find deals and discounts you can’t find anywhere else, which is important in this economy.”

This weekend, customers will get the chance to win a free Cave of the Winds ticket package, according to the show website. Winners can enjoy the park’s array of features, including a zip line, a ropes course, and a giant canyon swing. Details on how to sign up for the giveaway can be found on The Springs Home Show website.

“You get to walk around, meet people, learn about the latest trends, and you have the chance to win free tickets to Cave of the Winds,” Lee said. “It’s going to be a fun three days.”
